After a 12 year coaching stint in Houston, Texas Kim returned to her roots in Canada in 2009. As one of the top private softball coaches in Houston, Kim was the owner of The Ball Club Training Center where she successfully trained some of Houston’s top athletes from beginner to college levels. She also was an assistant coach at Blinn College. Kim is now the owner operator or The Complete Diamond Softball where she specializes in hitting and pitching. Kim is a certified hitting coach with Complete Game and Rob Crews.
Kim was a pitcher on several provincial and national championship teams in BC and attended Arizona Western College and The University of Oklahoma on a softball scholarship. Since returning to Canada Kim has been coaching in Maple Ridge as well as doing clinics in Maple Ridge.
Kim was the director of player and coach development for the Ridge Meadows Minor Softball Association. Kim has helped over 100 athletes achieve their dreams of a college scholarship through softball. Kim has been a Synergy Coach since 2011. Kim has 21 year old twin daughters Brinn and Soleil.

Brian Fewtrell
Coach
Brian Fewtrell played competitive hardball & softball for over 25 years and has coaching experience in all level of organized Softball Including experience in “A” programs in the lower mainland from U12A all the way to U19A. This is Brian’s second go round with Synergy Gold as he was an assistant coach in Synergy’s Inaugural season back in 2011.

Brian is also a member of the RMMSA Skills Clinics as an Instructor training skill including Catching, Fielding and Hitting specialties.
Brian and his teams have been involved with and have seen success in Tournaments and Provincials championships including attendance of several larger showcase tournament in the United States including the Colorado Sparkler Showcase, Ronald MacDonald Showcase, Beaverton, Oregon Showcase Sur City Showcase in California, Canada Cup,
Brian’s Energy and joy for softball are very evident in his coaching style and he looks forward to seeing the players succeed in getting an education while enjoying the game of Fastpitch softball!
Gary Waterman
Coach
Coach Gary has coached with the Ridge Meadows Pride 2009 team as an assistant coach for the last 3 years. Prior to that he coached High School baseball in the Ottawa area at Hillcrest High School where as the Head Coach the team won a city championship and Little League Baseball with the East Nepean Eagles and the Carlingwood Frank Ryan Cardinals. He is level 3 certified for Baseball by the NCCP and is working towards his certifications with Softball Canada. He has completed the Coaching Maximizer Series with Amanda Scarbourough and taken part in Defense Lessons with Morgan Stuart.
He grew up playing Little League Baseball in the Kanata Little League Association outside of Ottawa and progressed on to play American Legion with the Ottawa West Crusaders and Ottawa Red Sox. After High School he attended Carleton University where he played for four years, started for three and was a two year captain. Coach Gary played third base, second base and caught during his collegiate career.
Katelyn Ross
Coach
Katelyn Ross is an assistant coach/manager for the 2025 Canada games Team BC, and previously led her 2024 BC summer games team as a head coach to a gold medal. Katelyn Ross is the Head Coach at Garibaldi Softball Academy, a partnership between School District 42 and Ridge Meadows Minor Softball Association (RMMSA). Katelyn was one of the first RMMSA players to receive an international scholarship. She played 2 years for a Division 1 Junior College in Kansas and 2 years with Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where she completed her degree. Over her fast pitch career, Katelyn has been honored with many awards including Golden Glove awards, All Conference awards, Stolen Base records, and On Base Average records. She has competed in a NJCAA national tournament. Katelyn has a personal and informative knowledge when it comes to filming recruitment videos, out fielding, mid in-fielding, bunting and right handed hitting/ left handed slapping. In addition, she has a professional background with direct training levels in college athletics and the core values of training.
Jimmy Ross
Coach
Jimmy Ross joins the Synergy Coaching Staff for his first year coaching in the program. Jimmy played baseball for his minor career as both a catcher and infielder.
For the past two years Jimmy has been an assistant coach on the Pride 2009A team specializing in infield defense. Jimmy helped improve the team defense each of the past two years with the team setting a record for ERA with 1.68. Under the tutelage of Jimmy the team were medalists at each of the last two Provincial Championships and Pride 2009A finished (4th) at the U15 National Championships.
Jimmy strives to create a safe environment for players to develop their playing abilities but also developing self confidence and learning to be a great teammate. Jimmy believes while we are trying to develop exceptional softball players we are more importantly trying to develop strong. kind and confident young adults and he is honoured you trust him to help your player in that journey.
Hayley Fewtrell
Coach
Hayley played competitive ball for 14 years and has been coaching for 9 years. She has worked with all age groups both as a coach as well as an instructor for pitching and hitting. Hayley is a level 2 certified NCCP coach and has been coaching Pride 2011A for 6 years
Hayley is a Synergy Alumni and is now in her second year as a coach in the program. As a coach Hayley attended U15 Nationals and traveled to several tournaments. As a player she participated in tournaments in Utah, Las Vegas, California, Oregon and Washington.
Hayleys goal for the athletes of Synergy is to help the achieve their post secondary goals while having fun and learning in the process.
Kirsten Fewtrell

Kirsten has been involved in softball for 21 years and she had played at every level in minor ball. Kirsten has been coaching for 10 years and has coached at the A level ages U11-U16. She has attended many amazing softball tournaments including Colorado Sparkler, U14A Nationals, and many provincials championships. This is Kirstens second year on the Synergy coaching staff.

Sally Clayton
Team Manager
Sally Clayton is one of six founders of the Synergy Gold Fastpitch team in 2011. Recognizing the importance of having an avenue for players to pursue their scholarship dreams, Sally and 5 other Executive Members set out to produce a template for the Synergy Program which has been solidified and improved upon over the next 8 years with the dedicated Coaches and Managers.
As a long term volunteer with RMMSA (over 30 years), Sally was honoured with the Softball BC Minor Service Award in 2017 for her commitment to the sport. Sally has held many positions within RMMSA over this time frame, her current Executive Position is Director of Association Operations.
More importantly, Sally is the thread that weaves the Synergy Team together; she manages the paper flow, coordinates the details, and keeps the team running smoothly. Players refer to her as the “real MVP” as she provides them with the healthy snacks and meals that keep them playing at their best. Plus, she’s always got a smile on her face, a positive attitude, and a desire to see each girl achieve her best.
